Description

The Sentry is a versatile colour video magnifier designed for desktop and distance viewing. Its elegant style is aesthetically pleasing and would look at home on any desk, in the living room or at work.

At school or college, the Sentry can be used for viewing atlases and maps, completing worksheets including the use of drawing tools such as set squares and pairs of compases, electronics, using physical materials in chemistry and geology, and examining and manipulating specimens in biology and zoology.

The unique design of the swivel camera head allows students to look material on their desktop, and also the whiteboard or front of class demonstrations without having to leave their seats.

Although requiring mains power, it is easier to move the Sentry between classrooms than full-sized video magnifiers, by virtue of the fact that it plugs into any compatible computer-style screen. You need only carry the camera unit and power supply, and plug into another monitor at the new location.

In the home, the Sentry with its full auto-focus, is useful for crafts, modelling, needlework and embroidery, home electrics and painting and drawing.

Viewing options include full colour, black-text-on-white-background, or white-on-black. For additional illumination, a halogen lamp is located on the camera stem which can be switched on and off as required.

Sentry

The output is standard SVGA so Sentry's picture can be shown on any computer monitor. With a button on the control unit you can use your own existing computer's monitor, changing between the computer picture and the video magnifier image, saving space on the desk.

Sentry PC

Like the Sentry, the output is standard SVGA so Sentry's picture can be shown on any computer monitor. The Sentry PC can be used in combination with a PC to show either the video magnifier camera picture or the computer picture on the screen, or to combine both images simultaneously in split-screen format on the computer monitor.

Ideal for the office or education environment, it utilises your exisiting computer monitor mixing in the magnified camera picture with the computer output. This has the advantage that you can view print documents and computer programmes in close proximity, and you do not need to keep twisting between two screens. You can also magnify confidential documents or exam papers and still be assured that they are only visible in a section of your own PC's screen, assuring complete privacy.

One additional feature of the Sentry PC is the unique red-dot position locator, which is also available with ClearView+ video magnifiers. This is useful for the accurate placement of documents beneath the camera, or to make handwriting and form-filling easier. When the red-dot position locator is switched on, it is projected onto the page, showing exactly where the camera is focusing.

Simply place your pen against the red spot on the table, and when you look up it will be shown in the centre of the picture on the monitor. No more hunting round on the screen to find your place - it's as easy as that.
