Smart Reading

An innovative new feature, harnessing Natural Language Understanding (NLU), OrCam incorporates this technology to bring you Smart Reading. The Smart Reading feature enables you to find specific information in any document faster than ever before. Whether you are reading a newspaper or a restaurant menu, you can now use voice commands to find a word, headlines, dates, amounts, and more.

Simply ask for the text that interests you: “Read the headlines,” “Read amounts,” or “Start from” a specific section (like “desserts” in a menu).

The OrCam MyEye Smart comes with English, French and German languages as standard, additional available languages are: Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Dutch.

Special order devices are needed for other languages.

If you order online it will be able to read English and French. For devices in other languages please contact us.

The OrCam MyCharger is an optional highspeed charger that provides 4 full charges for up to 10 hours of continuous use!

OrCam Bluetooth Earphones are also available for complete privacy when using your MyEye Smart.

Languages

The OrCam Read Smart is available in multiple different languages.

When purchasing from us you are purchasing a Western European device. It will have English, French and German languages installed as standard. Other available languages in Western Europe are: Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Dutch.

Please note that Smart Reading is only available in English.

We are able to supply devices from different regions as special orders, please note that we cannot mix and match languages from different regions.

How to connect the OrCam MyEye to WiFi and download software updates

There are 2 ways to connect your OrCam device to WiFi in order to download the latest software updates.

*Please note that your device needs to be connected to the wall charger to connect to WiFi.

On the app

If not already done, download and install the app for your OrCam device.

Download the free OrCam MyEye App

Click on the "Settings" button.
Connect your device to the wall charger if not already connected.
Click on "WiFi Settings"
Select the network you want to connect to
- If you are unsure of what your WiFi network name is, the easiest way to find your WiFi's network name is to check on a device that is already connected to the WiFi and see which network that device is connected to. Some devices you can use would include your smartphone or computer.
When prompted, enter the WiFi network password
Your device will now connect to the WiFi, and will reconnect automatically every time you connect your device to the wall charger, provided it is within range of the WiFi network.
If there are any software updates available your device will automatically download them.

On the OrCam website

Open your internet browser and go to: https://www.orcam.com/en/wifiset/
Enter your network name and password
- If you are unsure of what your WiFi network name is, the easiest way to find your WiFi's network name is to check on a device that is already connected to the WiFi and see which network that device is connected to. Some devices you can use would include your smartphone or computer.
Click on "Generate QR Code"
Use your OrCam device to take a picture of the QR code
- On your OrCam MyEye you can either tap the touch bar or use the pointing gesture (remember to remove your finger from in front of the QR code when you hear the double beep so the device can fully see the QR code)
Your device will now connect to the WiFi, and will reconnect automatically every time you connect your device to the wall charger, provided it is within range of the WiFi network.
If there are any software updates available your device will automatically download them.

*Connecting to WiFi is not necessary to operate the device. The only reason to connect your device to WiFi is to ensure you have the latest software updates.

*Please note that OrCam devices only support 2.4 Ghz WiFi. OrCam devices currently do not support 5 Ghz WiFi. Please contact your internet service provider for details about your WiFi network frequency.
