With the RealSAM Pocket you can call contacts stored within your phone or call numbers by just asking, just say "Call VisionAid" or "Telephone 01775 711 977"
To send a text simply say "Send a text to VisionAid" or "Send a message to 123 456 789" the RealSAM Pocket will also read out received messages and also remind you of unopened messages.
Adding contacts couldn't be simpler, just say "Add a Contact, VisionAid" you can then add the new contact name and number. Contacts can also be added in bulk via the web portal.
For your Emergency contact(s) add the word "Assistance" before the contact name, when required press the emergency button 3 times and RealSAM Pocket will text them your location if you have more than one contact they will be contacted in sequence.
With RealSAM Pocket you have access to a whole library of books from RNIB, Calibre, Torch Trust and more.. No borrowing limits. Simply say "Find books by Wells” and then perhaps “And about Martians” to refine your search to find The War of the Worlds by HG Wells, it couldn't be easier!
Want to find out the latest news headlines? Just say "Read me the Times" to get today's newspaper, there are hundreds of British newspapers and magazines available.
Wanting to access up to date thinking, insights and opinions? Access to hundreds of podcasts that you can search for by specific episode names if known or ask for a more general enquiry. Just say “Search for podcasts about black holes” of course, you can mark podcasts as favourites, by just saying “Subscribe”.
Listen to your favourite radio stations, a particular genre or ask for your local stations, simply say "Listen to radio stations in Lincolnshire" or "Listen to radio stations about sport" hundreds of UK stations available to stream via WiFi. Say "Subscribe" to bookmark your favourite stations.
RealSAM Pocket can tell the time here in the UK or anywhere around the world Just say “What’s the Time?” or “What's the Time in Sydney?”
Need to set a timer, no problem Just say “Remind me in 20 minutes to check the cake in the oven” and Pocket will remind you in 20 minutes to “Check the cake in the oven”.
RealSAM Pocket also has the incredible Be My Eyes on board. Just say “Be My Eyes” to connect the handset’s microphone, speaker and camera, to one of over a million volunteers. who can talk to you and tell you what your phone sees.
Need to make sure that your trip to the park won't be ruined by bad weather? Just say “What’s the Weather” or “What’s the forecast for tomorrow?” and RealSAM Pocket will give you a forecast.
RealSAM Pocket can label outdoor locations and navigate you back to them – as the crow flys. Just say “Label Location as Park Gate”. When you are ready, RealSAM Pocket will get you back there, saying things like “Twenty meters to your front left”.
Momentarily geographically embarrassed? Just say “Where am I?” or “What’s around here” to help you get orientated.
RealSAM Pocket can also be used as a magnifier Just say “Magnifier" to access Pocket’s built-in Magnifier.
