The TOPAZ XL HD brings you the most versatile desktop video magnifier available. The sharp image with high-contrast text, vibrant colours, and rich black and white, allows the TOPAZ XL HD to offer a low level magnification (1.5x) and a wide field of view. Many users find they can display an entire page of text in high contrast across a widescreen monitor and read without moving the reading table from side to side. This means less fatigue, faster reading, and better comprehension.

The TOPAZ XL HD can be connected to a PC and can be used with the addition of GEM and OpenBook Scanning and Reading Software. With single keystroke it is possible to send a high-definition image from the TOPAZ XL HD camera to OpenBook, which will automatically perform optical character recognition and begin reading aloud. It is possible to scan multiple pages as one document then edit the document and save it. With OpenBook it is possible to format multiple columns into a single column on your screen for continuous reading. The user can change the font size and colours and even print out a copy with your enhancements, or save it as an MP3.
