Upcoming Software Update for BlindShell Classic 2 and Classic 3

BlindShell has announced an upcoming software update for both the BlindShell Classic 2 and BlindShell Classic 3 mobile phones. This update focuses on improving usability, fixing known issues, and enhancing the overall experience for users.

Below, we explain what’s included in the update and when it will be available.

What’s New in This Update

Easier Navigation of the Manual

A new search feature has been added to the Manual app. This allows users to:

• Search across all manuals stored on the phone, including the User Guide and app manuals
• Enter a search term and jump directly to the relevant chapter or text
• Find information more quickly without needing to scroll through the entire manual

This improvement makes learning and troubleshooting your BlindShell phone more straightforward and accessible.

Fixes and General Improvements (Classic 2 and Classic 3)

The following issues have been resolved on both phone models:

• Fixed a problem where the Wi‑Fi hotspot could turn off when changing sound profiles
• Corrected the “Reply all” option in MMS messages
• Improved contact search reliability, making it easier to find the right person quickly

Improvements Specific to BlindShell Classic 3

The update also includes several fixes specifically for Classic 3 users:

• Fixed the visibility of SD card files in the phone and supported applications
• Improved photo capture when using automatic flash, reducing delays when taking pictures
• Fixed an issue in Luna where the date and time of conversation messages were not always displayed correctly

These updates help ensure smoother performance and more reliable everyday use.

When Will the Update Be Available?

The software update (version 5.3.12) will be released in two stages:

• BlindShell Classic 3: Tuesday, 28 April
• BlindShell Classic 2: Wednesday, 29 April

The update will be delivered directly to your phone and can be installed via the System Update menu.
