We’re pleased to announce that SuperNova 25.01 from Dolphin Computer Access has now been approved for release and is rolling out from today, Monday 23rd February.

Version 25 introduces powerful new features and performance enhancements designed to make navigating Windows easier, smoother and more intuitive for people with sight loss.

What’s New in SuperNova 25.01

Notification Finder - Never Miss an Alert Again

The brand-new Notification Finder ensures users don’t miss important Windows notifications.

With a clear and intuitive interface, users can:

• Browse recent notifications

• Jump quickly using initial letter navigation

• Read full notification text

• Refresh or clear notifications

It can be launched directly from the SuperNova Control Panel or via Layered Hotkeys for quick access.

Toggle Web Quick Navigation Keys

Some websites - such as YouTube and Facebook - use single-letter shortcuts that can conflict with SuperNova’s Web Quick Navigation Keys. SuperNova 25.01 now allows users to temporarily toggle these keys on or off, providing greater flexibility while maintaining full Dolphin Cursor navigation control.

Install Additional Voices Directly from the Control Panel

Users can now install new speech voices directly within SuperNova - no need to re-run the installer. This makes personalising speech output faster and more convenient.

Support for LibLouis Braille Tables

SuperNova now supports LibLouis Braille Tables, providing access to over 160 additional literary Braille options. LibLouis is an open-source project offering a broad and continually updated range of Braille translations, giving users greater language flexibility.

Improved Whiteboard Connectivity (Preparation for 2026 Release)

Whiteboard Settings have been updated in preparation for the upcoming Whiteboard Assistant, scheduled for Spring 2026.

This will allow students to securely connect to a presenter’s whiteboard over the internet - even when not on the same network -  supporting more flexible learning environments.

Expanded Podcast Features

The Media section now includes an improved Podcast feature, making it easier to:

• Add and remove podcasts

• Search globally

• Enjoy favourite shows directly within SuperNova

Improved App Support & Performance Enhancements

SuperNova 25.01 includes new Map and Script files for:

• Windows Voice Access Toolbar

• Microsoft Copilot

• Snipping Tool

Performance improvements include:

• Faster navigation in Microsoft Edge

• Improved Start Menu search tracking

• Cleaner Braille output when reading URLs

• Updated support for the new WhatsApp for Windows

Additional Fixes & Refinements

Version 25.01 also includes:

• More accurate image descriptions via Dolphin Cursor

• Improved clarity with TrueFonts Bold

• Better magnification performance on Windows 11 25H2 with Intel Graphics

• Improved speech verbosity in Word

• Faster startup when set to auto-launch

• Smoother video playback

• Updated layered hotkeys (German & Portuguese)

• EasyReader replacing “Books” in the Media menu

• Retirement of the old “My Notifications” menu
